tree cutting Do you need a permit to cut that tree?
Under Ordinance 13576, you need a permit to cut a significant tree: a tree that when measured 4-1/2 feet above grade has a minimum diameter of 8 inches for evergreen trees and 12 inches for deciduous trees. Ordinance 13576 was amended in July 2005 to apply to previously omitted parcels. If you are concerned about tree-cutting in your neighborhood, contact King County Code Enforcement, Ms. Patricia Malone at 206. 296.6616.
